Who shouts the loudest is irrelevant, the focus is on delivery, says MCA sec-gen

KUALA LUMPUR: MCA Secretary-General Datuk Chong Sin Woon says the party is prioritising results over political rivalries, stressing that what matters to the people is not who shouts the loudest, but who can solve problems.

Chong said MCA must move beyond petty exchanges with other political parties and refocus on proving its value to Malaysians. He noted that decades of verbal sparring and mutual denigration with the DAP have done little for the country.

“What matters to the people is not who shouts the loudest, but who has the ability to solve problems. We must earn the people’s trust through performance, not by playing to emotions,” he said in his speech at the Wanita MCA General Meeting on Saturday (Dec 6) at Wisma MCA.

On engaging young voters, Chong stressed that MCA must communicate in a language that resonates with youth and create new economic opportunities, including building an entrepreneurial ecosystem.

“We aim to win the support of young people through practicality and results, not by stirring emotions,” he said.

He highlighted MCA’s aim to become Malaysia’s most tech-savvy and innovation-driven party.

This includes helping SMEs with digital transformation, introducing AI education and workplace skills, promoting STEM learning, establishing AI youth incubators, attracting investment, technology and networks from overseas Chinese communities, and building a global Chinese business platform to open opportunities for the younger generation.

Chong also reaffirmed MCA’s commitment to achieving a 30% quota for women candidates.

“The party must immediately identify and groom more female leaders, present more women for elections, and strengthen their training so that more women can take the frontline,” he said.

He added that the MCA central committee is ready to field more female candidates, highlighting that the nation needs women’s contributions to drive development and build a more inclusive, balanced and humane society.
