Two boys feared drowned after falling into drain in Kajang


KUALA LUMPUR: Two boys are feared drowned after falling and being swept away by the strong current while trying to retrieve a ball in a large drain at Lorong 1/3A, Taman Prima Saujana, Kajang, near here, on Thursday (Dec 4) evening.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Operations Division assistant director Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said his department received an emergency call regarding the incident at 6.32pm involving the children aged 12 and 14.

He said that following this, a machine from the Kajang Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) with six firefighters was moved to the location and arrived there at 6.39pm.

"Search and rescue work is being carried out in the main drain area by the teams involved," he said in a statement on Thursday.- Bernama
