Negri Sembilan RTD takes action against 11,241 commercial vehicles

SEREMBAN: The Negri Sembilan Road Transport Department (RTD) has taken enforcement action against 11,241 commercial vehicles for various offences from January to Nov 29 this year.

State RTD director Hanif Yusabra Yusuf said this was among the 44,964 vehicles inspected during the period, resulting in 34,848 notices.

"Actions taken include issuing notices, fines and inspection orders to address detected violations," he said at a press conference on Ops Perang Lebih Muatan in Jalan Labu on Tuesday (Dec 2).

Hanif added that efforts to curb overloading have proven effective, with a 19% decrease in heavy vehicles facing enforcement action, compared to 23% last year.

Since the operation began in October, 7,492 commercial vehicles have been inspected, leading to 1,389 notices issued. Nine vehicles were seized under Section 80(1) of the Land Public Transport Act (APAD), and the forfeiture process is currently underway in court. – Bernama
