Sabah polls: Mohd Shafie retains Senallang seat


KOTA KINABALU: Parti Warisan president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal (pic) has retained the Senallang seat in the 17th Sabah State Election.

According to the Election Commission (EC), Shafie, who is also the Member of Parliament for Semporna, won with a majority of 6,837 votes in a four-cornered contest.

Mohd Shafie defeated three other candidates - Datuk Marunda KK Ampong of Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS); Mohd Lipai @ Samsu Sundalu of Parti Impian Sabah; and Abdul Majid Angkulan of the Malaysian United People’s Party (Bersama).

In the 2020 state election, Mohd Shafie won the Senallang seat with a majority of 4,631 votes. - Bernama
