Policeman swept away by strong currents found drowned


SEPANG: A policeman who went missing after he was believed to have been swept away by strong currents at Klinik Desa Giching here on Friday was found drowned on Sunday (Nov 30).

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) deputy director of operations Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said the body of the victim was found at 7.30 am by the search team.

"Policemen and firefighters found the body about 50 metres from the vehicle,” he told reporters here.

Yesterday, Sepang Police chief ACP Norhizam Bahaman said the victim, who was with the Nilai Police headquarters, was believed to have been on his way to work after visiting his family here.

It was reported that the vehicle he was driving skidded into a drain in a flood-hit area near Klinik Desa Giching at 11 pm on Friday (Nov 28). - Bernama
