Sabah polls: All 882 polling centres closed at 5.30pm


KOTA KINABALU: All 882 polling centres for the 17th Sabah State Election have closed as of 5.30pm on Saturday (Nov 29).

The closure of these centres, which involved 3,599 streams, was carried out in stages according to the areas and number of registered voters, after polling began at 7.30am.

More than 1.74 million eligible voters participated in the polls to elect their representatives for the 73 contested seats in the Sabah State Legislative Assembly.

According to the Election Commission (EC), 60.94 per cent, or 1,062,114 voters, had cast their ballots by 4.00pm.

The EC expects to announce the early voting results around 10.00pm.
