Sabah polls: GRS, BN leaders rally voters in Tanjung Keramat

KOTA KINABALU: Top leaders from Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) and Barisan Nasional make their final push in Tanjung Keramat in Putatan before all campaigning ends at 11.59pm on Friday (Nov 28).

GRS chairman Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, in his speech, urged voters to make the right decision.

“We must choose a party that has a good track record in the past five years. Don’t vote for a party that has failed in leadership, as they have failed Sabahans,” he said.

Barisan chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi was expected to make the final swing for voters in the constituency at 8pm.

Tanjung Keramat was won by Barisan’s Datuk Shahelmey Yahya, who defected to GRS when Barisan pulled out of the coalition in January 2023.

Shahelmey, who is Putatan MP, has been suspended by Umno and did not defend the Tanjung Keramat state seat.

Meanwhile, Warisan President Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal ended his campaign meeting with his constituents in Senallang.

He urged Sabahans to exercise their rights and to cast their votes wisely.

“It doesn’t matter where you are, in the city or deep in the rural areas, please come out and vote for your future and the future of your future generations,” said Mohd Shafie.
