Sabah polls: Tuaran PKR denies vandalising Warisan candidate poster

KOTA KINABALU: Tuaran PKR has denied accusations that it was behind the vandalised poster of Warisan’s candidate for the Pantai Dalit seat.

This comes after the words “PKR Kirim Salam” were sprayed over a poster of Warisan’s Datuk Aliasgar Basri.

“We are not involved in this. We are also not contesting that seat. If we do want to send our regards, it will be over the phone or even heading to the Warisan candidate’s house,” said Tuaran PKR chief Razeef Rakimin in a Facebook post on Monday (Nov 24).

Razeef said the division would cooperate fully with investigations, be it from Warisan or the police, to identify the culprit.

“Everyone involved in the current state election should uphold democracy and contest in a mature manner.

“There should be no instances of excessive provocation involved, as it will disrupt Sabah’s harmony,” he said.

It will be a seven-cornered contest for the Pantai Dalit seat, with candidates from Gabungan Rakyat Sabah, Warisanand Barisan Nasional among those in the fray.
