Malaysia to share expertise to help Kenya become ‘star in Africa’, says Anwar

NAIROBI: Malaysia will share its expertise to help Kenya’s economic and social development so it can become a “star in Africa,” says Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

The Prime Minister said President Dr William Ruto’s resolve can lift Kenya to greater heights.

“There is no excuse whatsoever for Malaysia and Kenya not to work together to enhance our relations,” he said.

“Malaysia will share whatever expertise we have, including in the semiconductor and electrical and electronics sectors. With your determination, I believe you will be a star in Africa,” added Anwar.

Anwar was speaking at the state banquet hosted by Ruto on Sunday (Nov 23) night in conjunction with his two-day visit to Kenya.

At the banquet, Anwar said he is impressed with Ruto’s determination to advance development and make Kenya a great nation.

“As a sincere friend, I truly believe that you have the resolve, tenacity and conviction to make it work,” he said.

He also noted Ruto’s drive to alleviate poverty and provide housing for the masses.

“This exemplifies the spirit of remarkable leadership, to use power and position to champion for the people,” he said.

Present at the dinner were Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz, Datuk Seri Dr Zaliha Mustafa and Datuk Seri Amran Mohd Zin.
