Pakatan candidate for Moyog pledges to resolve floods if elected

PENAMPANG: Floods have been a perennial problem affecting locals in the Moyog constituency, and Pakatan candidate Remysta Jimmy Taylor wants to address the issue if elected as state assemblyman.

According to Remysta, floods have been a problem in Moyog, in the Penampang district, for over a decade.

“After we win, we will implement the flood mitigation plan.

“There is actually an allocation for it and now, there is an allocation to expedite flood mitigation plans,” he said when met at the sidelines of a campaign trail in Kampung Inobong on Saturday (Nov 22) morning.

Remysta said this includes widening drains and deepening rivers to prevent floods.

Meanwhile, Remystar said he was trying his best to reach out to people as the campaign enters its final week.

Remysta said he has covered all 13 polling districts in Moyog, adding that he has a packed schedule with at least six programs a day.

“Sometimes, there are more than 10 events in a day,” he said.

Remysta also urged eligible Sabahans to return and vote to exercise their democratic rights.

“We want Sabahans to come back and vote. One vote makes a difference,” he added.

Remysta also appeared unfazed over the crowded fray in Moyog, where he is facing a 12-cornered fight.

“We are trying our best. The mood is good and we are in good spirits. The momentum is picking up closer to the polling day,” he added.

Remysta is up in a 12-cornered fight against Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS), Warisan, Upko, Pejuang, Parti KDM, Aspirasi, Parti Impian Sabah (PIS), Parti Bumi Kenyalang, Anak Negreri,  and Sabah STAR.

There are 596 candidates from 23 parties who will contest the Sabah polls next Saturday (Nov 29).
