LBS achieves gold standard status with fourth consecutive win at Malaysia’s Best Managed Companies Awards 2025

PETALING JAYA: LBS Bina Group Bhd has been awarded the Gold Standard status in this year’s Deloitte Private “Malaysia’s Best Managed Companies”, marking its fourth consecutive win.

This award acknowledges outstanding Malaysian companies that demonstrate sustained excellence in strategy, outstanding corporate culture, strategic capabilities and strong governance.

This programme is widely respected within the business and investment communities, with winners evaluated through a rigorous and independent assessment by a panel of expert industry leaders.

This award highlights LBS’ sustained success in driving operational excellence, innovation, financial strength and sustainable growth, all anchored by its 8 x 8 Strategy, a corporate roadmap driven by cascading key performance indicators and active leadership oversight. The 8 x 8 Strategy spans three years, with projects evaluated for market demand, development readiness, environmental, social and governance alignment and potential financial returns. This comprehensive corporate roadmap includes strategic landbank optimisation, underpinning a robust RM8 billion GDV project pipeline from 2025 to 2027.

The group’s strong financial discipline further reinforces its execution capability. Rated AA-IS by MARC Ratings Bhd, this pioneering Asean Social SRI Sukuk Wakalah programme was oversubscribed in both tranches and has received global recognition including “Malaysia Deal of the Year” in the Islamic Finance News Deals of the Year 2024 Awards and “Best Asean Social Sukuk” at the 2025 Asset Triple A Sustainable Finance Awards. This essentially showcases LBS’ proven ability to fund projects while delivering on its environmental, social and governance commitments.

Driven by its commitment to sustainability and innovation, LBS has developed a 43MWp solar farm in Senawang, a project that directly supports Malaysia’s national energy agenda. This solar farm is expected to generate over 53,000MWh of clean energy annually, offsetting 35,000 tonnes of CO2, while creating recurring revenue opportunities.

LBS group managing director and chief executive officer Datuk Joey Lim Hock Guan said, “We are humbled to be recognised as a winner of this prestigious award, fourth time in a row.

“This achievement is a testament to the dedication of our entire team and the effectiveness of our strategies.

“More than an accolade, this award serves as a profound validation of our unique corporate direction, which is built upon five key differentiators – pursuing operational and innovative excellence, fostering a strong and empowered workforce, elevating customer experiences, advancing sustainability initiatives and committing to community well-being and social responsibility. Together, these elements will empower us to navigate market dynamics with agility and integrity.”

LBS executive director Datuk Cynthia Lim said, “Our people are our greatest strength, forming the foundation upon which our culture is built. Their dedication and resilience continue to power our transformation path.

“That said, the group’s strong performance is fuelled by proactive and inclusive corporate culture, as reflected through our “On the Move” campaign, where we have embedded our strategic goals into the company culture.”

She added: “Other programmes such as “Get to know your Bosses” give our employees a platform to lead and innovate.

“Our progress in diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), including 38% female board representation is not just a metric, it is a testament to our commitment of being a truly forward-looking company.

“We believe this culture will empower our growth journey, underscoring our commitment to build not just homes, but to enhance overall community wellbeing through sustainable living, working and recreational environments that shape a better future for all.”

With this fourth consecutive win and Gold Standard status milestone, LBS reaffirms its position as one of Malaysia’s most trusted and future-ready developers, committed to delivering affordable, sustainable and community-centric developments while driving long-term stakeholder value.
