RMSIR 2025: Tengku Amir participates, completes inshore race around Penang island


TANJUNG BUNGAH: The Raja Muda of Selangor, Tengku Amir Shah Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, successfully completed the inshore race around Penang Island at the 35th Raja Muda Selangor International Regatta (RMSIR) here Wednesday (Nov 19).

Tengku Amir, along with the crew of the yacht Maduzi, began the race at around noon before arriving at the finish line at around 5pm.

On Tuesday (Nov 18), Tengku Amir safely arrived in Penang after completing the second race of RMSIR 2025 from Pangkor Island.

The RMSIR, which runs for nine days from Nov 14 to 22, sees participation from 23 teams and will continue to Langkawi on Thursday (Nov 20).

The RMSIR, which was first organised in 1990, is the second oldest yachting championship in Asia and was the brainchild of the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, during his time as the Raja Muda of Selangor. - Bernama
