No discussion on opposition leader issue, focus is on Sabah polls, says Bersatu MP

PETALING JAYA: Matters regarding the position of the Opposition Leader were not discussed at a meeting with Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin at his residence in Bukit Damansara in Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday (Nov 18) evening.

When met after the meeting, Sabak Bernam MP Kalam Salan said the discussions did not touch on changing the position and was solely on preparing for the Sabah state election, reported Sinar Harian.

"It was not discussed at all. We only discussed how to win the state election.

Kalam said the mood of the meeting went well and talks were focused on strengthening the party.

"All okay. Talks about needing to respect the party is normal.

"Everyone, when they talk, want to strengthen the party," he added.

Some 18 MPs were reportedly present during the meeting with Muhyiddin.

The meeting was held following internal documents, which proposed to change the Opposition Leader and statements from several leaders expressing concerns over internal party polemics, had been leaked.

The 18 MPs also expressed their full support for Muhyiddin.
