PUTRAJAYA: A senior management official of a ministry has been placed on immediate leave following allegations of misconduct says Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar.

He said the decision was made to facilitate an immediate investigation.

"I have been informed of an allegation of misconduct involving a senior management officer in one of the ministries.

"Accordingly, the officer has been placed on immediate leave while an investigation into the matter is carried out," he said in a statement on Sunday (Nov 9).

Shamsul Azri said that if the officer is found guilty, disciplinary action would be taken in accordance with the Public Officers (Conduct and Discipline) Regulations 1993. – Bernama
