PM Anwar says health improving after rest, thanks public for prayers

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has said his health is gradually improving and expressed gratitude to all who have prayed for his recovery.

Anwar provided a health update through a Facebook post today, sharing a video of himself spending time with his daughter and granddaughter.

"I’m gradually recovering. Thank you for all your prayers," the post read.

On Sunday (Nov 2), the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) announced that Anwar had to cancel his working visit to Pahang scheduled for Sunday on medical advice, after suffering back pain that limited his movement and required adequate rest.

The PMO added that the Prime Minister sincerely apologised, especially to the people of Pahang who had prepared to welcome him.

Anwar returned home on Saturday after concluding his visit to South Korea, where he led the Malaysian delegation to the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders’ Meeting last Friday (Oct 31).

Prior to that, the Prime Minister chaired the 47th ASEAN Summit in Kuala Lumpur, which was attended by world leaders from Oct 26 to 28. - Bernama
