Kuala Lumpur police arrest 14 in anti-vice raids


KUALA LUMPUR: Anti-vice raids conducted in the city resulted in the arrest of 14 individuals, including suspected guest relations officers (GROs).

A total of six raids were carried out by the police on Sunday (Nov 2), from 2.30am to 5.00am, throughout the city.

During the operations, around 129 people aged 23 to 50 years were inspected. From this group, 14 suspects, aged 22 to 45, were apprehended, with five believed to be GROs.

Inspection of the premises revealed that all were operating without valid licenses, conducting business beyond permitted hours, serving alcohol without a valid permit and employing foreigners without authorisation.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Comm Datuk Fadil Marsus confirmed the raids and arrests.
