Woman found dead in car at Kuching mall


KUCHING: A local woman in her 20s was found dead in a parked car at a shopping centre here on Wednesday (Oct 29).

Kuching OCPD Asst Comm Alexson Naga Chabu said the police received a report from the public at about 1.55pm Wednesday regarding an unconscious woman in a vehicle.

"A police team was immediately dispatched to the scene, where they found the woman lying motionless in the driver's seat. Firefighters from the Tabuan Jaya Fire Station were called in to assist in opening the vehicle, which was locked from the inside," he said in a statement Thursday (Oct 30).

ACP Alexson said the woman was pronounced dead at the scene by a medical assistant.

The body was later sent to the Sarawak General Hospital Forensic Department for a post-mortem.

"Preliminary investigations found no criminal elements, and the case has been classified as a Sudden Death Report (SDR)," he added. - Bernama
