Four held for allegedly robbing Bangladeshi worker in Iskandar Puteri


ISKANDAR PUTERI: Four local men were arrested in the areas of Taman Pulai Utama, Kangkar Pulai, for allegedly robbing a foreign worker who was doing a house renovation job.

Iskandar Puteri OCP Asst Comm M. Kumarasan said the suspects, aged 32 to 42, were apprehended on Sunday (Oct 26) following a police report on Oct 23.

He said a 33-year-old local man, the owner of the house in Taman Pulai Mutiara, which was under renovation, in his report stated that a 43-year-old Bangladeshi man was robbed at the place.

“The suspects, armed with a hoe, had tied up the victim and made away with the victim’s belongings and the renovation tools,’’ ACP Kumarasan said in a statement.

He said three of the suspects have a criminal record related to drug offences, and initial urine tests were positive for methamphetamine.

ACP Kumarasan said police also seized a grass cutter machine, a grinder and clothes belonging to the victim.

He said all suspects have been remanded under Section 117 of the Code of Criminal Procedure from Oct 27 until Nov 2, 2025.

The case is being investigated under Section 395 and Section 397 of the Penal Code.

ACP Kumarasan called upon those with information on crime-related activities in Iskandar Puteri to report to the nearest police station or contact the Iskandar Puteri District Police Contingent Control Centre at 07-5113622 or the Hotline at 07-5114486.
