KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and US President Donald Trump have arrived together in "The Beast" – the nickname for Cadillac One, the American leader's limousine – at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre here for the 47th Asean Summit and Related Summits.
Anwar rode with Trump to the venue on Sunday (Oct 26) morning after the President touched down at Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 10.06am.
He was greeted by a performance showcasing Malaysia’s diverse cultures upon touchdown, and joined in the dances.
Trump's highly anticipated visit makes him the third US president to visit Malaysia, after Lyndon B. Johnson in 1966, followed by Barack Obama, who made two trips in 2014 and 2015.
During this trip, Trump is set to witness Cambodia and Thailand sign a deal after he helped broker an end to a five-day border conflict in July.
He is also scheduled to attend the 13th Asean-US Summit alongside a bilateral meeting between Malaysia and the United States.
Malaysia also aims to conclude the Reciprocal Trade Agreement with the United States during this summit.
Trump is then expected to attend a working dinner with Asean leaders later Sunday evening.
