EKVE Section 1 tolls to begin at 12.01am, Oct 25

KUALA LUMPUR: Toll collection on Section 1 of the East Klang Valley Expressway (EKVE) will start at 12.01am on Saturday (Oct 25), ending the two-month grace period that followed its Aug 30 opening.

The concession company, EKVE Sdn Bhd, said the toll implementation signifies the highway is now fully operational under its management.

"As part of the Madani government's initiative to ease the public's burden, EKVE users have enjoyed a toll exemption since Section 1 was officially opened by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on Aug 30, 2025.

"The temporary toll relief was provided to allow users to familiarise themselves with the new route and encourage smoother traffic flow between Ampang, Hulu Langat, and Sungai Long," the statement read.

Toll collection on the EKVE Section 1 will be fully electronic, using Touch 'n Go cards, SmartTAG, and Radio Frequency Identification (RFID).

EKVE also advised motorists to observe all traffic regulations and directional signs at the toll plazas to ensure a smooth journey. Enquiries can be directed to the EKVE hotline at 1-300-88-3583. - Bernama
