KUALA LUMPUR: Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek received a memorandum concerning school safety issues, accompanied by demands for her resignation on Wednesday (Oct 22).
The memorandum was handed over outside Parliament's gates to Fadhlina, who was accompanied by her Deputy, Wong Kah Woh, as well as several security officers and ministry officials, Sinar Harian reported.
The group of participants, including students, activists and the public, started gathering around 11.20am after marching from Taman Tugu.
The atmosphere became tense as about 35 protesters waited nearly 40 minutes for Fadhlina's arrival, while poor weather conditions added to their dissatisfaction.
When Fadhlina arrived at the gathering, she was met with chants demanding her resignation from the participants. Despite this, she took a moment to briefly discuss the demands outlined in the memorandum with the group's representatives.
Fadhlina, however, refused to give any statement to the media after receiving the document.
