SPM candidate found dead at home in Negri Sembilan


JELEBU: A female student, who was also a candidate for Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM), was found dead at her home in Kuala Klawang here on Saturday (Oct 11).

Negri Sembilan Police Chief, Datuk Alzafny Ahmad, said the Kuala Klawang Police Station received a call from a medical officer at Jelebu Hospital at 11.50 pm informing them of the incident involving the 17-year-old girl, reported Sinar Harian.

"Initial police investigations revealed that the victim was a school student and was discovered in the front room of a one-story terraced house.

"The house was a family residence and the deceased had locked the room door from the inside," he said in a statement on Monday (Oct 13).

He said that further examination of the victim's body revealed no signs of a struggle (defensive wound) or any elements of a crime.

Alzafny also stated that none of the victim's personal belongings were missing.

"A post-mortem of the victim was carried out on Sunday (Oct 12).

"The case is classified as sudden death (SDR)," said Alzafny.

He also advised the public not to speculate or spread unverified information that could cause public upset and hurt the feelings of the victim's family.
