KUALA LUMPUR: The National Human Capital Conference & Exhibition (NHCCE) 2025 has concluded at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), marking the end of three impactful days under the theme ‘Navigating the Human Capital Revolution’.
The conference reaffirms its position as Malaysia’s premier platform for thought leadership, collaboration and innovation in the field of human capital, driving meaningful dialogue and actionable insights for the nation’s future workforce and marking a milestone in Malaysia’s journey to become a regional hub for human capital excellence and skills innovation.
Held from Oct 6 – 8, in conjunction with Malaysia’s Asean Chairmanship and the Asean Year of Skills (AYOS) 2025, NHCCE 2025 demonstrated the nation’s commitment to advancing the ASEAN skills agenda, one that promotes skills without borders, regional cooperation and inclusive growth across the Southeast Asian region.
Organised by Human Resource Development Corporation (HRD Corp) and supported by the Human Resources Ministry (Kesuma), the conference brought together approximately 3,000 delegates, 300 exhibitors and 33 international and local speakers, providing a strategic platform for leaders, policymakers and human capital professionals to explore the evolving landscape of work and workforce development.
In addition, the BizMatch segment of the NHCCE 2025 exhibition successfully recorded 879 enrolments across 560 courses, involving 86 training providers and 394 employers, with a total enrolment value of RM3.176mil.
HRD Corp chief executive Dr Syed Alwi Mohamed Sultan emphasised during his epilogue session that everyone must now focus on unlearning, relearning, adapting, reskilling and collaborating because these will define our edge in a digital world.
“Speaker after speaker spoke and one common thread appeared to be a common denominator and that is, the future is already here and is being shaped by change, technology and talent.
“And that’s where HRD Corp comes in. We are proud to be leading the national agenda in upskilling, workforce transformation and inclusive talent development. Our mission is to ensure no one is left behind, whether you’re a fresh graduate, a mid-career professional, or a business owner navigating disruption.” he said in his speech.
He also added that over the years, HRD Corp has transformed from a levy-collecting agency to a strategic enabler of Malaysia’s human capital ecosystem, which has shifted the priorities from merely funding training to shaping national workforce policies, catalysing industry transformation and future proofing skills development.
Throughout the three days, NHCCE 2025 facilitated in-depth dialogues on how emerging technologies, such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), are reshaping workplaces and redefining human potential. Beyond technology, the conference also reflected the importance of cultivating adaptive leadership, sustainable practices and a people-centric approach to organisational growth.
The opening ceremony of NHCCE 2025 was officiated by Human Resources Minister Steven Sim Chee Keong and accompanied by Kesuma (policy and international) deputy secretary-general Dr Mohd Shaharin Umar, Kesuma (operation) deputy secretary-general Sutekno Ahmad Belon, HRD Corp board of directors chairman Datuk Abu Huraira Abu Yazid and HRD Corp chief executive Dr Syed Alwi Mohamed Sultan.
This year’s impressive speaker line-up includes global thought leaders such as world-renowned theoretical physicist and futurist Dr Michio Kaku, famous world dual-code rugby star, Olympic medallist and philanthropist Sonny Bill Williams, internationally recognised futurist and researcher Graeme Codrington and 13-time Grand Prix winner and former Formula 1 driver David Coulthard.
It was also joined by Malaysia’s own influential figures, including architect of Malaysia’s national transformation Datuk Seri Idris Jala, Malaysia International Islamic Finance Centre (MIFC) chairman and a leading voice in sustainable economic development Tan Sri Azman Mokhtar and former world squash champion and founder of the Nicol David Organisation Datuk Nicol David.
The success of NHCCE 2025 also reaffirms Malaysia’s commitment to driving innovation, inclusivity and human potential, paving the way for a truly future-ready workforce.
