Man dies, 18 injured after express bus hits road sign on NSE


BANGI: A 59-year-old man died whilst 18 other passengers were injured after the express bus they were in rammed into a road sign along the North-South Expressway near Southville.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said the distress call was received at about 2.57am on Saturday (Oct 11).

"18 firemen were dispatched to the scene.

"The victim Chew Sin Heng was trapped in the vehicle and died at the scene.

"18 other victims sustained injuries and were treated by medical personnel," he said in a statement.
