Let the people decide, says Kitingan on five Sabah STAR reps

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah STAR president Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Kitingan (pic) says he will let the people come to their own conclusions on the five party assemblymen who have expressed support for Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS).

"I respect the decision of the five Sabah STAR leaders who have chosen to remain withGRS.

"Each person must act according to his conscience. I have seen this before and I am not surprised, " he said.

Kitingan said it did not matter who was with him but "whether the path is right and that I stay on it.

"Some may take the easier road, but I will continue on the one that leads to justice for Sabah," he said, adding that his struggle is about dignity, fairness and the unfulfilled hopes of Sabahans.

"My mission remains the same. I will continue to stand for Sabah and to serve her people with honesty and courage.

"Those who chose another direction remain my friends and I wish them well.

"My duty, however, is clear. The struggle continues, and in the end, the people will decide," he said.

On Monday (Oct 6), Datuk Flovia Ng (Tulid), Datuk Ellron Alfred Angin (Sook), Datuk Abidin Madingkir (Paginatan) and Datuk Annuar Ayub Aman (Liawan) were present with GRS leaders during Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor's announcement of the state assembly's dissolution, signalling their ongoing support for GRS ahead of the 17th State Election.
