KOTA KINABALU: A 32-year-old foreign man was arrested in Tawau for allegedly molesting a teenage girl in his van while driving her home from school in Merotai.
According to the Tawau police district headquarters, the incident occurred at about 12.50pm on Thursday (Oct 2) while the victim was on her way home.
The victim informed her family about the incident and lodged a police report the same day at about 3.15pm.
A team from the Bombalai police station tracked down and detained the suspect and seized a van linked to the incident.
The suspect and the vehicle were taken to the police station for further investigation and the case is being investigated under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act.
