Cyclist killed after falling from motorcycle bridge onto railway tracks


IPOH: A 49-year-old man died after falling from a 6.10-metre-high motorcycle bridge onto railway tracks at Kampung Pinang Seberang, Kamunting, near Taiping on Thursday (Oct 2).

Perak Fire and Rescue Department Acting Assistant Director of Operations, Shazlean Mohd Hanafiah said they received an emergency call about the incident at 2.10pm before deploying a fire engine with nine personnel from the Kamunting Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) to the location.

"Upon arrival at 2.18 pm, it was found that the victim, who was cycling, had fallen onto the railway tracks and sustained severe injuries from the impact with the stone blocks," he said in a statement Thursday.

He added that the victim's remains were handed over to the police for further action. – Bernama
