Police hunting suspect after nine-year-old girl molested in Kulai coffee shop


KULAI: Police are tracking down a man who allegedly molested a nine-year-old girl at a coffee shop in Batu 19 here.

Kulai OCPD Asst Comm Tan Seng Lee said police received a report on the incident, which took place at around 7.30pm on Sunday (Sept 14).

“The nine-year-old victim claimed she was molested. We are working to identify the suspect to track him down and arrest him,” he said.

ACP Tan added that police are pursuing the suspect based on a photograph and information received.

He also advised the public not to take matters into their own hands or spread unverified information while the investigation is ongoing.

“So far, we have not received any other complaints or reports on the matter. The public is reminded not to act outside the law or circulate inaccurate information, as the case is still under police investigation,” he added.

ACP Tan said the case is being investigated under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017.
