Ahmad Fadhli and Sanusi top PAS central committee polls


ALOR SETAR: Pasir Mas MP Ahmad Fadhli Shaari and Kedah Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor have emerged as the top-ranked candidates in the PAS central committee race for the 2025–2027 term.

Ahmad Fadhli, who is also the party's information chief, secured the highest number of votes with 1,096, followed closely by Muhammad Sanusi with 1,062 votes.

Jitra assemblyman Dr Haim Hilman Abdullah clinched third place with 1,028 votes.

The results were announced by PAS election committee chairman Wan Rohimi Wan Daud during the party’s 71st Muktamar on Tuesday (Sept 16).

Among the top 10 was Muhammad Khalil Abdul Hadi, son of party president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang, who placed fourth.

Also elected were Jerantut MP Khairil Nizam Khirudin, Kelantan Mentri Besar Datuk Mohd Nassuruddin Daud, Kapar MP Dr Halimah Ali, Rantau Panjang MP Datuk Siti Zailah Mohd Yusoff and Pengkalan Chepa MP Datuk Ahmad Marzuk Shaary.

Other notable figures securing seats on the central committee include Arau MP and former Perlis Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim, Pendang MP Datuk Awang Hashim, Kuala Terengganu MP Datuk Ahmad Amzad Hashim, as well as former Bachok MP Nik Mohamad Abduh Nik Abdul Aziz, son of the late Kelantan Mentri Besar.

The top five positions, including the party president, deputy presidents and three vice presidents, were won uncontested.

Perlis Menteri Besar Shukri Ramli, Perak opposition chief Razman Zakaria and former MP Tan Sri Annuar Musa, who joined the party in 2023 did not make it into the list.
