Tanjung Bidara Beach to become tourist hotspot

ALOR GAJAH: Tanjung Bidara Beach will undergo a major facelift with various facility upgrades to make it a premier tourism destination, says Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh.

He said planned improvements, to be carried out next year, include expanding parking areas, creating more business space for small traders and developing new attractions to enhance visitor comfort and satisfaction.

“With this new look, we are confident that the Tanjung Bidara Beach Festival will become one of the state’s main tourism attractions.

“Insya-Allah, this beach festival will also be made into a larger and more organised annual event in the future,” he told reporters yesterday, Bernama reported.

He said that the beach area now also has a new attraction – a remote control car circuit that cost RM500,000.

Earlier, Ab Rauf closed the 2025 Tanjung Bidara Beach Festival, which was also attended by State Secretary Datuk Azhar Arshad and State Tourism, Heritage, Arts and Culture Committee chairman Datuk Abdul Razak Abdul Rahman.

He said the three-day beach festival, which began on Sept 12, attracted over 25,000 visitors with more than 40 programmes staged.

“It included cultural performances, like the Dondang Sayang king and queen competitions, traditional game competitions and career exhibitions by security agencies.

“The success of this second edition reflects the synergy of all parties, including security agencies and the local community, in making Tanjung Bidara Beach not just a recreational spot but also a centre for Malay arts and cultural heritage,” he added.
