ALOR SETAR: PAS have to get closer and not neglect non-Muslims voters by engaging with them through common and relatable issues, says a Perak PAS delegate.
Abd Muhaimin Malik, who is the Tapah PAS chief, said that it was important to engage the youth early, including non-Muslims.
"We can engage with them through common issues such as justice, integrity, employment opportunities, as well as social welfare," he said while debating the PAS president's policy speech at the 71st PAS Muktamar here on Monday (Sept 15).
He said members should engage with the youth as young as school students.
"The responsibility of PAS Youth doesn’t begin at university. We cannot wait until the youth enter university before introducing them to our struggle.
"It must begin earlier, during secondary school or even primary school. We must shape their understanding with Islamic principles from the beginning," he said.
He said such efforts must be made earlier, as the minds of youth are being shaped even as children.
