Nine suspects in case where woman's body found in car released on bail


IPOH: Nine individuals who were arrested over the investigation into the discovery of a woman's body in a car in Simpang Pulai have been released on police bail.

Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad said eight men and one woman were released while waiting for further instructions from the prosecution, adding that the investigation was still in progress.

"The police remanded all nine suspects on Monday and we have received instructions from the deputy public prosecutor to release them," he told reporters here on Saturday (Sept 13), adding that the case is being investigated under Section 302 and Section 307 of the Penal Code and Section 3 of the Firearms (Increased Penalties) Act 1971.

The nine were arrested after the body of the woman was discovered in a car of a suspect who shot and stabbed a policeman.

The suspect remains at large. – Bernama
