Police tracking hit-and-run driver following collision in Subang Jaya

SUBANG JAYA: The police are now tracking down a car driver who was believed to be involved in a hit-and-run incident with a motorcyclist, after a video of the incident in Jalan Puchong Utama went viral.

Subang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said a 54-second video on Facebook showed a motorcycle chasing an SUV driven by a man.

According to him, the incident occurred after the car was involved in a collision with a motorcycle.

"The motorcycle was travelling from Puchong Utama towards Puchong Permai before it was hit by the MPV," he said, according to a report by Sinar Harian.

ACP Wan Azlan said the motorcyclist, a 20-year-old man, sustained minor injuries.

He added that further investigations are ongoing to locate the driver.

The case is being investigated under Section 43 of the Road Transport Act 1987.

“Members of the public who have any information are urged to come forward to assist in the investigation by contacting the Investigating Officer, Inspector Muhammad Hamdan Jeramatin, at 019-464 2222,” he said.
