Cops obtain footage of Sabak Bernam dorm in student falling case

SHAH ALAM: The CCTV footage of the Sabak Bernam dormitory where a student fell from has been obtained, police say.

Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Shazeli Kahar, when asked for updates on the student who was injured after falling from the dormitory in Sabak Bernam, said that investigations were almost completed.

He added that the police had obtained the footage from the CCTV camera and recorded statements from "various" people.

He also said that the police have yet to link elements of bullying to the case and that the investigation paper will be referred to the deputy public prosecutor's office for further orders.

"No arrests have been made, but leads have been identified based on statements received," he told a press conference on Wednesday (Sept 3), adding that the victim has yet to regain consciousness.

On Aug 24, the male student was seriously injured after falling from the third floor of the dormitory.

In an unrelated matter, Comm Shazeli said that the visa for British national David Balisong, who is still missing, will end on Thursday.

The 17-year-old was reported missing on June 7 after coming into the country.

He added that if nothing had happened to the teen, then he is slated to leave the country on Thursday and that the police would be able to detect his departure.

He also said that efforts to locate him were ongoing.
