Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad said that the Malaysian Medical Council had registered the five doctors, who had also received the “Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in Cardiothoracic Surgery” qualification, to the National Specialist Register.

“The five Cardiothoracic Surgeons are currently serving at Penang General Hospital and the National Heart Institute, " said Dzulkefly in a statement on Wednesday (Aug 27).
