I'm ready to defend my remarks in court, Rafizi says after legal notice from Farhash

PETALING JAYA: Former PKR deputy president Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli says he is prepared to defend his statements in court after receiving a legal notice from Datuk Wira Farhash Wafa Salvador.

Rafizi confirmed that he had received a cease and desist letter on Friday (Aug 22) from lawyers representing Farhash, the former political secretary to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

The letter demanded that Rafizi stop making further remarks and issue an apology over his claim that a whistleblower was linked to business dealings associated with Farhash.

Rafizi, however, stood firm, saying his remarks were factual.

“My statement was based on facts, and I am prepared to defend them in court,” he said in a statement on Monday (Aug 25).

He added that the matter has been handed over to his lawyer.

Rafizi also noted that if Farhash proceeds with legal action, the case would be of public interest and give his legal team the chance to raise questions that many have been asking for some time.
