Another earthquake hits Kluang, no casualties reported


JOHOR BARU: Another earthquake measuring 2.8 on the Richter scale was detected in Kluang on Sunday (August 24) morning.

The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) said the tremor occurred at 9 am, with its epicentre 28km northwest of Kluang at coordinates 2.2°N and 103.1°E, at a depth of 10km.

“The tremor was felt in several parts of Johor as well as in Negeri Sembilan, Melaka and southern Pahang,” MetMalaysia said in a statement.

The department added it will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide updates as necessary.

No casualties or property damage have been reported.
