KUALA LANGAT: "He is my backbone, the eldest son who helped the family a lot since his father was sick and his younger sister had cancer. Now, I have lost him forever."
Such is the melancholy expression of Roszainida Hassan, 40, the mother of Muhammad Danish Shamsul Sharizan, 16, who died after the car he was driving, with five other teenage passengers, crashed into a ditch on Jalan Sultan Sulaiman Shah, Banting, at about 5am on Saturday(Aug 23).
Three other victims, namely Muhammad Adib Anuar, 16; Muhammad Danish Farhan Alias, 19 and Hariz Nazri, 19, were also confirmed dead.
Two other teenagers, Daniel Iqkwan Jalaluddin, 15 and Danish Haikal Nazri, 17, were reported to be in a critical condition.

According to Roszainida, her eldest son left the house claiming he was going to a nearby workshop to repair a motorcycle.
"He told me he wanted to go to the workshop because he wanted to help me. He knew his father was ill and his sister needed cancer treatment, which cost a lot of money. I only had time to say, 'Be careful. ' That's all," she told Sinar Harian.
She explained that the deceased had been the backbone of the family for the past three years when her husband was no longer able to work due to health problems.
"I'm just a housewife who gets paid to send and pick up school children. He's the one who helps me a lot with paying for the house, buying things, cooking, and even taking care of her younger siblings. His passing is a huge loss for us," she said.
Meanwhile, Anuar Kamil, 44, the father of Muhammad Adib, said he met his second son the evening before the tragedy.
"When he returned home yesterday evening, I had a chance to ask him whether he had prayed or not. After that, he went out again. That was the last time I saw him," he said.
According to him, he did not expect his son to go out with his friends because he thought Adib was just going to play sepak takraw.
"I saw that he was wearing socks, it was to play sepak takraw. I didn't even know that he went out with friends that night. He didn't even joke or talk before the incident. He is a normal kid, normal like other teenagers, he has his own character," he said again.
In the meantime, Nururrarizikiah Jantan, 47, lost her third child, Hariz Nazri, 19, while her other child, Danish Haikal Nazri, 17, was in critical condition.
According to her, Hariz had just returned from work before going out again with his friends and his younger brother, on the night of the incident.
"They always hang out with friends at my house. Even that night, Hariz was at home before going out. He was the only one working," she said.
She said that while at Banting Hospital's Forensic Unit, she confirmed the identity of Danish Haikal, who was seriously injured after the doctor showed her her son's identity card.
"The doctor told me that his left and right legs are broken, his left hand is also broken, and there is a brain injury. His condition is still critical. One of my children is gone, the other is still fighting for his life," he said tearfully.
Meanwhile, Kuala Langat OCPD Supt Mohd Akmalrizal Mohd Radzi stated that preliminary investigations revealed a red car, travelling from the direction of Pantai Morib towards Telok Panglima Garang, was believed to have lost control before falling into a ditch and crashing into a wall.
He stated that all the victims were between 16 and 19 years old, and the case was investigated in accordance with Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
