Johor cops receive report from bullying victim’s mother


JOHOR BARU: Police have received a report from the mother of a bullying victim on Tuesday (Aug 19).

Seri Alam OCPD Asst Mohd Sohaimi Ishak said the incident happened under a block of flats at the Molek Ria residential area on Jalan Persiaran Bumi Hijau near here at 2.03pm on July 14.

“The 33-year-old woman claimed that her son was kicked in his tummy by a boy who is also from the neighbourhood,” he said in a statement.

ACP Mohd Sohaimi said the victim suffered injuries, adding the case is being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code.

Section 323 of the Penal Code pertains to the offence of voluntarily causing hurt, which is punishable by a jail term for up to a year, a fine of up to RM2,000, or both.

He reminded the public to refrain from speculating or sharing unverified information and details of the case, which could create misunderstanding and cause public outrage.
