Akmal to provide statement to police tonight


PETALING JAYA: Umno Youth chief Datuk Dr Akmal Salleh has been summoned by the police to provide his statement over a demonstration in Kepala Batas, Penang.

In a Facebook post, Akmal said an investigating officer from Bukit Aman had contacted him to ask him to provide his statement at the Dang Wangi district police headquarters at 11pm on Friday (Aug 15).

On Aug 14, Akmal led a group of over 200 people in a march in Penang over an incident where a Jalur Gemilang was placed upside-down at a hardware store in Kepala Batas.
