IPOH: Perak is taking a compassionate leap forward in tackling its stray animal population with a plan to create dedicated shelters where rescued strays can find safety, care and a second chance at life.

According to state housing and local government committee chairman Sandrea Ng Shy Ching, a partnership between the state government and NGOs will identify and convert suitable sites into affordable, NGO-managed shelters.
