KUALA PILAH: An Immigration Department officer has pleaded not guilty at a Magistrate's Court here to a charge of robbing a foreigner.

Mohd Nazrul Md Yasin, 38, claimed trial after the charge was read to him before Magistrate Yusna Khadijah Md Yusop on Monday (Aug 11).

He was charged with robbing Khan Qasim, a Pakistani national, of his mobile phone, passport, RM440 in cash, and RM210 in the alleged victim's e-wallet.

He is accused of committing the offence along a road in Kg Miku Pindah, Rembau, at 6.10pm on July 11.

Nazrul was charged under Section 392 of the Penal Code for robbery, which carries a jail term of up to 14 years and a fine or caning if convicted.
