Two men nabbed in possession of fake gun in Kluang


KLUANG: Two men have been arrested after a fake firearm was found in their car in Kahang here.

Kluang OCPD Asst Comm Bahrin Mohd Noh said police on patrol spotted the two suspects, aged 23 and 32, behaving suspiciously at 2.30pm on Wednesday (Aug 6).

"Our men found a weapon resembling a pistol when searching the car they were in," he said in a statement on Thursday (Aug 7).

He said the car belonged to one of the suspects.

ACP Bahrin said both suspects have existing criminal records, including for drug offences.

"Both tested positive for methamphetamine," he said.

He said the case is being investigated under Section 36 of the Arms Act 1960 for possessing or importing imitation weapons.
