Sinar Harian reported that the younger brother of Mohamad Azim Izat, Nor Syafiqah Ishak, 28, said that preliminary identification of all the victims at the scene of the incident had been made, and it was found that the bodies were those of the missing victims.

"Actually, we have been searching along the Korok River road since the day my brother disappeared, but there are no clues because the river is wide and deep, and the water is murky.

"Until this morning, when the water in the river receded a little, someone saw the end of the bonnet of the car, and we all went straight here. When the car was pulled to the bank of the river and the body was brought up, my younger brother confirmed that all the bodies were his brother, wife and children," he told reporters at the scene of the incident, here on Monday (July 7).

Nor Syafiqah said that before the incident, all the victims spent the night at a family member's house in Taman Aman, near Jitra, before allegedly leaving for their home in Jerlun at about 5.30am on Saturday.

"It was reported that a car was in the river and there were six victims, namely a man, a woman, three children and a baby in the vehicle.

"The process of identifying the victim was carried out by the next of kin, and the work to remove the victim was completely completed at 11 this morning," he said.

He said, according to rescuers, all the victims were found in the passenger seat at the back, and the car's window had been broken to remove the bodies.

"This river is six meters deep, and it was found that there were also tire marks due to braking about one meter from the river bank," he said. – Bernama
