KDNKA confiscates RM5.7bil worth of items this year

KUALA LUMPUR: Authorities have seized items worth around RM5.7bil, including contraband and electronic waste, as part of various operations this year by the Bukit Aman Internal Security and Public Order (KDNKA) department.

Its director, Comm Datuk Seri Azmi Abu Kassim, said the department, through all of its divisions and branches, has also detained 5,080 individuals based on 7,118 police reports lodged this year.

"I commend all personnel and officers who showed extraordinary dedication and commitment that led to such successes," he said in his speech during the department's monthly assembly on Tuesday (July 1).

He also reminded the department's top officers to ensure that all allowances and incentives for lower-rank officers are given, in line with the principles of integrity and fairness.

Comm Azmi said efforts must be made to strengthen training at all levels so that all officers and personnel can benefit from it.

"It will lead to all becoming more proactive, knowledgeable and ready to face any challenge," he added.
