Malaysians evacuated from Iran to arrive at KLIA tonight


KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysians evacuated from Iran are expected to arrive at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) on Sunday (June 22) night.

The Foreign Affairs Ministry announced that all evacuees boarded Turkmenistan Airlines flight T5-647 on Sunday and are currently en route to Malaysia via Bangkok, Thailand.

"They are expected to arrive at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) via Malaysia Airlines flight MH781 at 10.50pm," read the statement.

"This evacuation was facilitated by the Embassy of Malaysia in Tehran and coordinated with the Embassies of Malaysia in Ashgabat and Bangkok."

Foreign Affairs Ministry Deputy Secretary-General (Bilateral Affairs) Datuk Ahmad Rozian Abd Ghani will greet the evacuees upon their arrival.
