King and Queen extend condolences to victims’ families


KUALA LUMPUR: His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, and Her Majesty Raja Zarith Sofiah, Queen of Malaysia, have expressed their heartfelt condolences to the families of the 15 Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) students who perished in a tragic bus accident in Perak yesterday morning.

In a Facebook post, their Majesties conveyed deep sorrow over the tragedy and prayed that the bereaved families be granted strength, patience and ease during this profoundly difficult time.

Their Majesties also prayed for the swift recovery of those who were injured and are currently receiving treatment.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim described the tragedy as a solemn reminder for everyone to exercise caution and avoid rushing to their destinations.

“Your lives are priceless and irreplaceable,” he said in a Facebook post yesterday, Bernama reported.

The Prime Minister and his wife Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail also extended their condolences to the families of the victims, praying that they find strength and resilience during this difficult time.

MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong also expressed his sadness over the tragic accident that claimed the lives of numerous victims.

He described the incident as “news that no one wishes to hear or see”, adding that it was heartbreaking to learn of the devastating loss.

“My heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims. May the victims rest in peace and may those who are injured have a swift and full recovery,” he said in a Facebook post yesterday.
