Dr Wee extends condolences to Gerik bus crash victims


KUALA LUMPUR: MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong has expressed sorrow over the tragic bus crash in Gerik that claimed the lives of 15 Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) students early Monday (June 9).

"News that no one wishes to hear or see. It is truly heartbreaking to read about the loss of so many precious lives in the accident

"My heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims. May the victims rest in peace and may those who are injured have a swift and full recovery," he said in a Facebook post on Monday.

The accident, which occurred near Tasik Banding, has been described as one of the country's worst road tragedies in recent years. Authorities are continuing investigations into the cause.
