Foreign man dies after falling onto LRT track in Puchong


PETALING JAYA: A foreign national died after falling onto the track at the Pusat Bandar Puchong LRT station on Tuesday (June 3).

In a statement, the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department said a team from the Subang Jaya Fire and Rescue Department station found the man under a carriage in an unconscious state.

The distress call was received at about 6.05pm on Tuesday.

“The individual died while the operations team was assisting in removing the victim from the track,” read the statement.

The victim, who was in his 60s, was confirmed dead by a medical team, with the body handed over to the police for further action.

In a statement earlier Tuesday. Rapid KL said train services between the Bandar Puteri, Taman Perindustrian Puchong, Pusat Bandar Puchong and IOI Puchong Jaya stations were halted due to this.

Shuttle buses and alternative train routes were then deployed to ferry passengers.

Operations have since returned to normal as at 8.54pm on Tuesday.
