Rafizi mum on future plans

PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli (pic), who quit his job as Economy Minister, has given no clue about his next plan.

“Let everyone calm down,” he said, indicating that he would provide an update later.

He acknowledged in a post on X yesterday that he had already planned what to do next.

But for now, he said his mission was to reply to the “thousands” of messages sent to him.

“I have been on leave since Wednesday,” he added.

During the PKR party polls last week, Rafizi lost the deputy presidency post to Nurul Izzah Anwar.

He announced his resignation from the Cabinet on Wednesday. The resignation takes effect on June 17.

Yesterday, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said he had not yet considered a Cabinet reshuffle, despite the resignation of Rafizi and Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, who quit as Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Minister.

Nik Nazmi failed to defend his PKR vice-presidency.

“They are still on leave. We cannot replace ministers who are currently on leave,” said Anwar.

Following Rafizi’s post on X yesterday, his supporters posed a number of questions to him ranging from weighty issues to lighter topics.

Someone asked him: “Can you create a new account to update about your cats on a daily basis?”

His reply: “Ha3 very difficult to take their photos and videos. Camera shy.”
